Facilitating aging research across institutions in the upper Midwest
The overarching goal of the MAC is to provide a platform to promote and facilitate advances in aging research in the upper Mid-West. The MAC takes advantage of the particular strengths of each of its comprising institutions that include the Mayo Clinic and the Universities of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Iowa, Indiana, Northwestern, North Dakota, Ohio State, Iowa State, Illinois-Chicago and Southern Illinois.
Our mission is to establish a network of aging research investigators in the Midwest.
We do that by:
- Facilitating expanded and interdisciplinary research through shared resources and expertise.
- Providing an infrastructure to enhance collaboration and foster the development of new ideas and new lines of investigation of the biology of aging.
- Creating a community of aging research investigators with ranges of expertise across all facets of the biology of aging.
This enables members of The MAC to pursue multi-site funding that leverages expertise, resources, and scientific networks across state lines.
